Material And
Methods: This study is a descriptive study by using a questionnaire conducted between JulySeptember 2007 with the families of 407 children aged 0-16 years admitted to pediatric polyclinics of Dr Sami Ulus Children’s Education and Training Hospital.
Results: Of the patients, 53.6% (n=218) applied for upper airway complaints and 83.3% (n=338) had known the diagnosis. Of the families, 37.3% (n=152) had told that the doctor ‘completely’ expressed prescription and 46.9% (n = 191) ‘in-completely’, 25.3% ‘partially’ knew the use of prescription.
Conclusion: Physicians should be matured to evaluate and to take into consideration all factors that affect patient compliance with medication. More studies may help to identify the most effective factor affecting drug compliance
