The Turkish Journal of Pediatric Disease is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by Ankara Bilkent City Hospital, Children’s Hospital. The journal is published in English and issued six times a year, in January, March, May, July, September, and November.

The Turkish Journal of Pediatric Disease publishes original research articles, reviews, case reports, and letters to the editor focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and clinical practice in the field of child health and diseases. The journal aims to disseminate current scientific advancements in pediatrics, support the adoption of evidence-based clinical practices, and contribute to the accumulation of scientific knowledge concerning child health.

Addressing key issues related to child health at both national and international levels, the journal provides a platform for innovative approaches and interdisciplinary studies aimed at resolving these challenges. Aim & Scope

The Turkish Journal of Pediatric Disease aims to publish high-quality research in the field of pediatrics and to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge. The journal supports the dissemination of original articles, reviews, case reports, and letters to the editor that address diagnosis, treatment, and healthcare practices during the neonatal, childhood, and adolescent periods.

The journal welcomes submissions in a wide range of pediatric subspecialties, including but not limited to clinical pediatrics, pediatric infectious diseases, endocrinology, gastroenterology, immunology, hematology, cardiology, neurology, nephrology, and pediatric surgery. Its mission is to offer scientific solutions to current issues in child health, promote evidence-based medical practices, and generate knowledge that can guide healthcare delivery.

Emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration, the journal aspires to serve as a reliable and up-to-date resource for researchers in the field.

Publication Frequency

Turkish Journal of Pediatric Disease is published bimonthly. The issues are published in January, March, May, July, September, and November.

Digital Archiving and Preservation

The content of Turkish Journal of Pediatric Disease is archived through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which provides permanent archiving for academic journals. PKP PN utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program to ensure decentralized and distributed preservation of content. This program guarantees continuous access to the original and unaltered version of the journal, ensuring long-term access. Additionally, the full-text versions of all articles published in the journal are stored in PDF format at the National Library of Türkiye.

Turkish Journal of Pediatric Disease is an open access journal. All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, provided the original work is properly cited. Authors retain copyright of their published article. Open access ensures more reuse and citation, higher visibility and discoverability, greater engagement, immediate impact, increased interdisciplinary work and wider collaboration.

Turkish Journal of Pediatric Disease adopts the Open Access Declaration published by the Budapest Open Access Initiative in February, 2002:

“By ‘open access’ to this [research] literature, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.
