Abstract

Lichen Planus (LP) has an incidence of 0.1-1.2 % in adults, and is much less common in childhood. The exact incidence of LP in pediatric patients has not been determined yet, but about 1-4% of all LP cases are seen in children. The reason for the low childhood incidence may be the relative rarity of factors that play a role in the initiation of LP, such as exposure to drugs, dental-restoration material, infective agents and environmental triggers including stress. Studies on LP in children are limited in number and composed of isolated case reports or small series. Here we report 3 LP cases with an age range of 6 to 14 years who were diagnosed clinically and histopathologically, with one case of oral LP. We review the relevant data while presenting these cases
