Abstract

Birçok ülkede, çocuklarda hipertiroidizmde ilk seçenek tedavi metimazoldür. Metimazol ile tedavi sırasında bazı yan etkiler görülebilir. Sık görülen yan etkiler döküntü, kaşıntı, artralji, bulantı ve tat değişikliğidir. Diğer ciddi yan etkileri Steven Johnson Sendromu, trombositopeni, nötropeni ve vaskülittir.  Burada; metimazole bağlı vaskülit gelişen16 yaşındaki kız hastayı tartışacağız. Hastamızda metimazole bağlı vaskülit tedaviden sonraki birinci ayda görülmüştür.  Vaskülit semptomları tedavi kesiminden sonra hızlıca kaybolmuştur. Vaskülit metimazolün ağır bir yan etkisidir ve tedavi kesilmesini gerekmektedir.
